Of course, there was a time (not too long ago), that length of time at a previous
employer was important. This may not be as important today as companies are
shifting more toward temp and contractual hires. In Step Two—Identify Your
Career Path, we spoke about this phenomenon. Despite this, it is important to
show a strong track record. To ensure you are showing a strong track record, one
method you can follow is as follows:

Length of Time Worked
for an organization
Traditionally we demonstrated length of time working for an organization. This
strategy is outdated and no longer relevant. It is best to show how much time you
invested acquiring the experience relating to your path.
Therefore consider the difference between examples One and Two.
Example One
In this example, you can see the applicant is demonstrating how long he worked
for each company (one year for each organization), a traditional strategy that
demonstrates a poor track record.
