Ever make soup? You typically start with
a base (for instance chicken broth), and add the ingredients to
create the favor. If you had three bowls with the same base and
added broccoli to one, beans and meat to the second, and shrimp
to the third, although the base are all the same for all three
bowls, you now have three bowls of soup with different favors.
When we create your resume, after selecting your path (the
base), we add the ingredients that make your resume specifc to
a particular job prior to sending it to the hiring manager.
Suppose you have skills in management, customer service, and
recruitment. We will create three general resumes for those
types of positions; then prior to sending the resume, we add
the ingredients that create the specifc favors each employer is
looking for.
In other words, we create a general resume that would appeal to
every employer hiring for customer service, then we add ingre-
dients for an employer looking for customer service agents for a
call center and one looking for customer service agent for a re-
tail outlet. The base does not change. It is all customer service.
The ingredients, however, do change from one environment to
another (call center or retail).
This will all make more sense as we start creating your resume.
It is time to create your resume. Let’s get to work.
Each skill will have its own
general
resume. Te details are added later.
